Research project EvaDAT

The Bergische Universität Wuppertal has initiated a research project in which a standardized example database for the software-supported structural design has been set up.
At present, there are no specific requirements or rules for static programmes, which makes the quality assurance of the programmes problematic. Especially due to the increasing complexity of building models in BIM planning, it is becoming increasingly difficult to check the quality of the structural analysis software.

The database named “EvaDAT” (evaluation example database) is intended to enable the static software to be tested on the basis of reference solutions which comply with generally accepted technical rules. The examples are intended to support the software manufacturers in the development of structural analysis programs as well as to help the users to determine the suitability of the software product for the respective tasks.

Further information about EvaDAT can be found here.

We are very pleased to have been able to participate in this research project and hope that the database will provide users and software manufacturers with useful information!
